Storm Water Information
(253) 833-2897
The City of Algona Public Works Department has developed a program with specific guidelines to handle the problem of storm water here in the city of Algona. Storm water is rain and snow melt that runs off surfaces such as rooftops, paved streets, highways, and parking lots. As water runs off these surfaces, it can pick up pollution such as: oil, fertilizers, pesticides, soil, trash, and animal waste. From here, the water might flow directly into a local stream, bay, or lake. Or, it may go into a storm drain and continue through storm pipes until it is released untreated into local waterways such as nearby streams, rivers and the Puget Sound. Below you will find links with more information, and hopefully specific answers to any questions that you may have.
